Contraceptive implant insertion
Nexplanon insertion on ο»Ώ arm. ο»Ώ
Insertion 8-10 cm from medial epicondyle and marked along with guiding site using sterile marker
Procedure area was prepped and draped in a sterile fashion.
Local anesthesia with ο»Ώ mL of 1% lidocaine ο»Ώ epinephrine.
Nexplanon trocar inserted subcutaneously, then capsule delivered subcutaneously.
Capsule was palpated to assure satisfactory placement.
Dressings applied.
The patient tolerated the procedure well complications
Standard post-procedure care is explained and return precautions are given.
