Trigger Finger 

DDx: stenosing tenosynovitis, de Quervain's tenosynovitis, ganglion cyst, Dupuytren's contracture, carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, flexor tendon injury, repetitive strain injury, scar tissue formation





PLAN:

Investigations:

- X-ray of the hand

- Ultrasound of the hand

Treatments:

- Rest and activity modification

- Splinting of the affected finger

- Heat or ice application

- 

- Corticosteroid injection

- Physical therapy

- Occupational therapy

- Surgery if conservative treatment fails

Further care:

- Referral to orthopedic surgeon

- Referral to plastic surgeon

- Follow-up in  

- Return if symptoms worsen, if new symptoms develop such as pain or swelling, or if symptoms do not improve with treatment
