Onset was ‍gradualsudden, started ‍whileafter ‍skin contact with ‍



Symptoms include:

‍redness

‍swelling

‍itching

‍blisters

‍dry, cracked skin

‍hives

‍peeling

‍swelling in the throat or mouth

‍shortness of breath

‍wheezing



Worsening factors: ‍none 

Alleviating factors: ‍none , ‍effectiveineffective



Contributing factors:

no history of: ‍previous allergic reactions, ‍allergic rhinitis, ‍asthma, ‍eczema, ‍previous skin allergies, ‍autoimmune disorders, ‍food allergies

no use of: ‍antihistamines, ‍topical corticosteroids, ‍immunosuppressants, ‍epinephrine auto-injector





EXAM:

General appearance: ‍well-appearing, ‍apparent distress

Skin: ‍rashlesions on ‍





ASSESSMENT:

‍Allergic contact dermatitis ‍likelysuspectedpossible

DDx: allergic contact dermatitis, irritant contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema, drug eruption, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, scabies, insect bite reaction, food allergy, anaphylaxis, contact urticaria, photoallergic dermatitis, contact dermatitis due to plants, latex allergy, cosmetic dermatitis, nickel dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, lichen simplex chronicus, impetigo, vasculitis, serum sickness-like reaction





PLAN:

Investigations:

- Allergy testing

- Skin biopsy

- Blood work: ‍CBC, ‍IgE

Treatments:

- ‍Topical corticosteroids

- ‍Topical calcineurin inhibitors

- ‍Antihistamines

- ‍Emollients

- Avoidance of known allergens and irritants

- Education on proper skin care

Further care:

- Referral to dermatologist

- Referral to allergist

- Follow-up in ‍ ‍weeksmonths

- Return if rash worsens, if new symptoms develop, or if condition does not improve after 2 weeks
