‍blistering

‍cracking

‍peeling

‍scaling

‍dryness

‍pain

‍burning

Contributing factors:

‍exposure to irritants or allergens

‍current stress

‍poor hygiene

no history of: ‍dermatitis, ‍eczema atopy, ‍asthma, ‍hay fever, ‍autoimmune disease

no family history of: ‍atopy





EXAM:

General appearance: ‍well-appearing, ‍apparent distress

Skin: ‍rashlesions on ‍





ASSESSMENT:

‍Allergic contact dermatitis ‍likelysuspectedpossible

DDx: allergic contact dermatitis, irritant contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, perioral dermatitis, nummular dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, lichen simplex chronicus, psoriasis, drug eruption, scabies, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, pityriasis rosea, lichen planus, lichen sclerosus, fungal infection, impetigo, herpes simplex, photodermatitis, stasis dermatitis





PLAN:

Investigations:

- Patch testing

- Skin biopsy

Treatments:

- ‍Topical corticosteroids

- ‍Topical calcineurin inhibitors

- ‍Antihistamines

- ‍Emollients

- Avoidance of irritants and allergens

- Education on proper skin care and avoidance of triggers

Further care:

- Referral to dermatologist

- Follow-up in ‍ ‍weeksmonths

- Return if rash worsens, if new symptoms develop, or if condition does not improve after 2 weeks
