Presents with a ‍-‍day history of ‍bumpslesions on the ‍faceneckchestbackabdomengenitaliaarmslegshandsfeet

Symptoms include:

‍redness

‍swelling

‍itching

‍tenderness

‍irritation

discharge, ‍clear, ‍thin

fever, up to ‍°, over ‍ ‍hoursdays

‍chills

‍enlarged lymph nodes

‍generalized symptoms



Alleviating factors: ‍none, ‍effectiveineffective



unprotected sex

sexual contact with individuals with STIs

multiple sexual partners

immunodeficiency

poor hygiene

close contact with individuals with molluscum contagiosum

No history of: ‍molluscum contagiosum, ‍atopic dermatitis, ‍other skin conditions, ‍sexually transmitted infections, ‍immunodeficiency

No use of: ‍topical treatments, ‍immunomodulators, ‍antiviral medications, ‍antibiotics, ‍chemotherapy, ‍immunosuppressants





EXAM:

General appearance: ‍well-appearing, ‍apparent distress

Skin: ‍rashlesions on ‍





ASSESSMENT:

‍Molluscum contagiosum ‍likelysuspectedpossible

DDx: molluscum contagiosum, genital warts, common warts, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, keratoacanthoma, sebaceous hyperplasia, condyloma acuminatum, skin tags, folliculitis, yeast infection, contact dermatitis, papular eczema, lichen planus, papular urticaria, insect bite reaction





PLAN:

Investigations:

- Viral culture

- PCR testing

Treatments:

- ‍Topical treatments

- ‍Physical treatments

- Avoidance of sexual contact until lesions are treated and healed

- Counseling on condom use

Further care:

- Referral to dermatologist

- Follow-up in ‍ ‍weeksmonths

- Return if lesions do not improve or if new lesions develop
