DDx: hip osteoarthritis, trochanteric bursitis, iliopsoas bursitis, femoroacetabular impingement, labral tear, hip tendinitis, muscle strain, meralgia paresthetica, referred pain from the lumbar spine, lumbar radiculopathy, malignancy, avascular necrosis, hip fracture, pubic ramus fracture, sacroiliac joint disorder, septic arthritis, gout, stress fracture, snapping hip syndrome
PLAN:
Investigations:
- Hip X-ray
- MRI of the hip
Treatments:
- Advised that the condition is likely benign and that they should remain active as tolerated
- Encouraged to stretch, keep good posture, and avoid overuse
- Physical therapy
