Trigger Finger Injection

Steroid injection of a trigger finger:

- Site: finger #‍12345 ‍rightleft

- Consent: obtained after discussion on the benefits and risks, including pain, bleeding, infection, tendon tear

- Preparation: ‍alcoholchlorhexidinebetadine

- Medication: ‍Depo-MedrolKenalog ‍102040 mg/cc ‍0.250.500.7511.52 cc and 1% lidocaine without epi ‍0.250.500.7511.5234 cc

- Procedure: injection into the sheath of the affected tendon via ‍palmarlateral approach

- Complications: ‍none, procedure ‍well toleratedfairly well toleratedpoorly toleratedinterrupted

- Instructions: rest for 48 hours, ice, analgesics, return if significant pain, redness, swelling, or fever
